Hamburg: report of the trial of Musa AÅŸoÄŸlu
The trial of Musa took place on December 6 at 10 am in the district court of Hamburg, Germany.
The trial of Musa AÅŸoÄŸlu was unveiled on November 27 from 10 am to 4 pm in the Hamburg District Court in Germany. It was decided that the next audience would take place on December 6th at 10 am instead of December 1st as initially planned.
Musa AÅŸoÄŸlu took the floor to defend himself by countering the words held by the magistrate. This one didn’t seem to have studied the file, which had been transferred by the Turkish security to the German services, an then constituted by the criminal police of the country. What can explain the numerous inconsistencies which enamelled this trial since it began January 25th, 2018. It can also question a real will to apply the justice in this procedure. A significant example remains that the Court mainly appears to establish its judgment on the assertions of Allattin Ates, informant whom it quoted repeatedly to testify against Musa Asoglu. However, this person has still not come forward to face his denunciations and the lack of evidence is flagrant.
On several occasions, the magistrate tried to interrupt Musa AÅŸoÄŸlu. "If freedom of press and expression were respected, if justice existed, I would not be in this court today," he said.
Musa AÅŸoÄŸlu is a Turkish revolutionary detained in Germany since 2 December 2016 and accused by his country of being leader of the DHKP-C (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front), far-left organization placed on the official list of organizations by some countries, including Turkey, the United States or the United Kingdom. His bill of indictment is essentially constituted by his political activities. Among these, the organization of a symposium against the isolation in several countries of Europe as well as diverse political investments led in the democratic spheres are included. Musa AÅŸoÄŸlu incurs a ten years prison term in the Federal Republic of Germany as well as a risk of extradition towards the United States which bet a three million dollar prime on his head since 2014.
The German state seems to want to judge Musa AÅŸoÄŸlu by deciding on a heavy sentence already fixed before the end of the trial. It wants to intimidate people who fight against repression, for democracy and claim the rights to freedom.
The Freedom Committee for Musa AÅŸoÄŸlu calls to be present at the High Court of Hamburg in Germany on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10 am.
